Hi! How are you all doing? I hope you are all well. Have you heard of the app Yuka? Before I moved I had lunch with a friend and she told me about Yuka. Prior to that I never heard of it.
Yuka is a free app that deciphers product labels and analyzes the health impact of food products and cosmetics. They also have a paid version that comes with additional features for members.
Yuka is 100% independent - no ads, no influence - scores and recommendations are obtained independently with no influence from outside brands or manufactures. How refreshing!
When I got home I put the Yuka app on my phone and used it the next time I went shopping. I made the mistake of not looking into more detail of what the app does and missed out on some things until recently. I found out that besides giving you a score and rating of a product(many food items and cosmetics) it gives you a food analysis and recommendations when you scan a product with a low score. That part I missed. Some of the products that they suggest may not be available at the stores you shop at or that they are from another country.
They also have a history of things you have scanned and keeps a record of it. It gives products the positives and negatives of it.
The food analysis - analyzes food items providing a detailed data sheet for each product to explain how it was evaluated.
Cosmetic analysis - analyzes hygiene and cosmetic products.
Recommendations - when you scan a product with a low score, Yuka offers independent recommendations for similar items that are better for your health.
I would recommend you go to their website for more information and down load the app.

Since realizing the other uses and recommendations of better products I use it more frequently when I go grocery shopping.
Tell me what you think of it, if you downloaded the app.
